Reviews of UNH!

4 STARS www.DMME.net
Beavering away for twenty years, Beau Hall is little known beyond Atlanta, GA, which is strange as the music the man produces is appealing to both kids hooked on MAROON 5 and geezers marooned on John Lee Hooker. It's boiling and bubbling with inebriating effect that sends a listener in a slow jitterbug once organ and harmonica mesh for "Whatchagonnado". There's a great dose of soul in the ten songs, "Can I Get Some Lovin'" oozes it in spades. Beau's 'guy-next-door' voice and his careful guitar picking anchor it ear to the ground, and the ground's shaking. Grounded in tradition, Hall shakes some good action even when it comes to the beaten theme of "She's Too Rich For Me", its groove holding a lot of restrained emotion that flood out in hushed desperation of "Sometimes I Cry" dedicated to the friend who passed away. But there's no load at all: elsewhere, "I Wanna Be The One" charts acoustic waters whereas "Superhot Lady Cop" injects a fun-fuel into the fire. James Brown wouldn't be ashamed to come up with "Swing Down".

This is great music!

"Hall’s vocals and words are pure and full of heart stirring emotional resonance"
Southeast Performer Magazine
Beau Hall’s fresh new release of funky, blues-driven pop opens with some soulful Hammond organ playing and sharp harmonica riffs. Unh! will appeal to listeners with crafty sense of melodic representation, instrumentally savvy up-beat song craft and passionate vocal phrasing and lyrics. “Whatchagonnado” arrives complete with the genuine blend of soul and spirit, not to mention a charming, original and well-thought out hook. Hall’s vocals and words are pure and full of heart stirring emotional resonance, seemingly always on pitch of each particular key. “I Wanna Be the One” features the hyperkinetic buzz of Hall’s acoustic guitars which played with a great sense of personality and bleeding with a percussive feel. The backing group of musicians consists of experienced artists who add an edge that keeps these acoustic songs from falling flat on the kitchen table, in terms of overall performance. “Superhot Lady Cop” has one regretful aspect. Although the lead guitars are good, perhaps the lead hook about the title lady should take on the role as the title of the song. (Self-Released)

Super Cool the Pawn Shop
Superhot Ladycop: Interesting and engaging beat, a little funk. good bass. excellent drummer. Lyrics were good and original. good changes. definitely had me noving. chorus was hilarious. song had several interesting hooks, combining several differnt styles into one song. the longer I listened, the more I liked it. Good male vocal, liked his "uh's" thrown in now and then. Pretty cool song. Did I say excellent drummer...yep.

This is the strangest subject matter I've ever heard for lyrics for a song. Who ever wrote this had to have lived it because you don't just set and dream this %*&* up! Unless your a heavy user. Kudos for the lyrics. The lead vocals where good and in front of the mix where they shoud be and he had nice delivery. I love the guitar chops but in my humble opinion he or she should skip the effects. The guitar was also to low in the mix on the other solos which left a dull mono spot. The drums and bass seemed to be placed about right in the mix. With the right remix I think you would be right on. Keep up the good work and good things will happen!

I Need Those Hits! Mitchell Thomas
Oh man, I love that funky drum rhythm that comes in the beginning and makes my body start swinging involuntarily. I absolutely love that wah keyboard sound, or is it a guitar? "So you got me going close to 69" Love the lyrics, absolutely. A fusion of funk comes at the breakdown halfway through the song, and this very unique guitar solo! Sounds like it's in reverse sometimes, but I'm not sure, which makes it that much more mysterious and cool. Congradulations on a good song.

Funked MRWOODALL4
Great opening harmony. Strong lead vocal. I also like what I'm assuming is keyboard in the background. The song definelty has a strong funk vibe, enhanced by the use of wah and ascending/descending bass lines. I also really like the lyrics and song subject of the "super hot lady cop". The guitar solo was great, different and wierd. The rythm section sounds tight. Very nice. I enjoyed it very much.

The drums are great here. The vocals are happening although the lyrics pretty cheesy. Good fun though. I really dig the funky feel going on. Great rythym vampimg. Bass is right where it needs to be. Lead guitars are just right in the breaks. Good backing vocals. Best thing I've heard tonight. I'd like to check these guys out live.

Excellent over-all production barlowtech
Definately like the funky intro. Good instrumentation, nice tight sound. Production is excellent. I've heard "professional" productions that do not sound as balanced as this. Vocals are good, think the lyrics are a little cheesey, but the melodies are great. Nothing incredibly new or experimental, but it works Like the effect on the guitar at the solo at 2:20. A well put together song, other than the lyrics, I don't have a single problem with it. Drum is good, doesn't really stand out as spectacular, but definately gets you feeling the rythm.

Funky! I'm dancing in my chair! danvaillancourt
This is Funky like a good 70s funk song! I'm dancing in my chair. It made me smile before the instruments came in... haha... Super Hot lady Cop! All of the sexual innuendos are hilarious. The song is kinda cheesy but I like it... like a guilty pleasure!
